Fall is in the air

Summer has come to and end here in Yellowstone and we are on to cool nights and warm days. Fall in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem is one of our four favorite seasons. As the light shifts days take on a lazy feel. The busy days of summer are over. We hiked to the summit of Observation Peak this last weekend and even more than usual had the trail to ourselves. Amazing fall color was all around us. The grass is golden and the geranium leaves and fireweed are brilliant burnt red. We even got to see some of my cousins, two swans were finding all sorts of good food at cascade lake. Sacha and I are all booked up for the season now. With only three weeks left in Yellowstone we have a patrol cabin booked for each one!
